An emergency management meeting was held in Baghlan under the chairmanship of the governor.
A meeting of the Emergency Management Department in Baghlan province was held in the presence of all the directors of the province and representatives of private aid organizations, chaired by the Governor of Baghlan.
Qari Bakhtiar Moaz in his address to the meeting said that no natural calamity has occurred in Baghlan province since the conquests and recommended the Baghlan Disaster Management Department to be fully prepared. If any natural calamity occurs in any part of the province, it should be addressed immediately and urgent and serious steps should be taken to provide assistance.
The Governor said that the Emergency Management Department should be serious in dealing with major traffic accidents, avalanches and other natural calamities in the northern Salang Pass this winter and should take care of the maintenance of the Salang Pass. Adequate coordination should be fully prepared and in case of any disaster, rescue teams should be dispatched immediately. Also, natural disasters occur in Sachi Kotal area of ​​Khost district every year due to heavy snowfall without any casualties. Therefore, the Department of Emergency Management should be fully prepared in that area as well.
The governor added that severe storms and floods have occurred in other provinces but with any possible floods and hurricanes, the disaster management department should be fully prepared to deal with any storm or flood in any place and in any area. It hurts people personally and financially so help them.
At the end of the meeting, the Disaster Management Department was instructed to be fully prepared in all these areas so that no one affected by the natural disasters would be left out of their coverage.
