Khost Police Chief Maulvi Mehboob Shah Qanat, who was leading a special delegation, went to Babrak Town today to resolve a land dispute between two tribes, Gul Mat Khel and Saaf Khel.
During the visit, the militants of both the tribes descended from the strongholds and held talks with the elders of both the tribes, including local scholars, on resolving the dispute.
The police chief told them to use patience and resolve the issue through dialogue.
He added that in the presence of the Islamic system, no one would be allowed to take up arms and infringe on the rights of others.
Four people were arrested on drug trafficking charges.
Also, during separate operations in Khost, four people were arrested on charges of possessing 21 kilograms of hashish, one bottle of wine, glass powder and other narcotics.
The suspects wanted to sell the drugs to people in the city and districts, Mir Sadiq Khan, director of counter-narcotics at the Khost police headquarters, told a news conference.
He added that one of the reasons for the drop in crime in Khost was the decline in drug sales.
